Gabe's "New Ride"

Gabe and his new car.
Gabe flew into New Orleans from up north last week and bought a new car. It's not totally brand new...it's a 2003 but he has ALWAYS wanted this kind of car. So he is thrilled.

We visited with him for several days.
Now he's on his way back to his home far, far, away in a distant land called Connecticut.
Some where I have never been. Sigh.

He loves it up there....for many reasons.
But one being it is so much cooler than here. Gabe has always liked a cooler climate.

We checked in with the "Connecticut Yankee" last night and after driving 17 hours straight, and going through a "scary and weird experience in Mobile Alabama at 3:30 in the morning."

I knew my husband and I had both woke up praying for him in the night several times for a good reason. I called him at 5:00am to check in on him to make sure he was still awake after driving all night.

He had finally made it to Virginia yesterday evening where he was staying the next two days with a friend and attending some business seminars for work before driving the rest of the way home.

I am a bit concerned though.

About his car that is.
I wonder how they are going to like his car up there in "U-Conn" territory...Especially since he put that LSU plate on the front has added that huge LSU sticker on the back windshield..umm....not counting the one on the front windshield. Yikes!

You would think that boy liked LSU or something......

The last of the Luke photos.........

I don't know about you all.....but I've had such a nutty week that I haven't even had time to post these last few photos of Luke's graduation as promised....
so finally at 12:12am.....I have a few spare moments to do just that. :~)

Graduation cake......notice the hand holding the last cupcake.
"Miss Priss" had swiped it before I took the photo and it looked like Luke had graduated in the Class of "200" so she held it back in for the photo.
Crazed Don and "Lukie"
Luke wants some cupcakes....ummmmm.

Mom and LukeLuke is already registered to attend College in the Fall at the "Baton Rouge Community College" which has about 9000 attendees.....as compared to LSU's 35 thousand.

We felt it best to "start out small. Besides he was very freaked out by the size of BRCC as it was.....so this works. HA!
Very tired Graduate.....umm...I took this photo when I went in his room to turn off his TV that he had fallen asleep watching. He'd pass out if he knew I had taken this and put it on here...HA! Oh well...
I'm so GLAD this is over...

Gabe flew back to the East Coast today..well Friday that is...he's going to be in Cape Cod for the Memorial Day weekend. Must be nice.

A crabby Gabe....he didn't want his photo taken.

Cheers!

Happy Birthday to Gabe

Gabe, son #1, their friend Dustin and Caleb son #2, Tailgating at an LSU Football game this Fall.
Gabe
Today is "Gabe's" birthday.

Whose proper name was, and still is in fact "Gabriel" when we named him oh so many years ago now it seems. He was born in a "Leap year" and just missed it. We were glad of that really.

We haven't seen him "face to face" since before Christmas at which point he moved to Connecticut to be near the "girlfriend" whose parents relocated to there in August.
We do talk to him several times a week though....which is good.
He said they received another "8 inches of snow" during the night and it was "beautiful."
To which I responded "ugh....it's nearly 80 degrees and beautiful here."

It snowed right after Gabriel was born...in fact....they told me to "stay" at the hospital because of the snow storm.....so I did and was there nearly 5 days.

Which made me cry when I left with that tiny new baby because I felt like I was leaving "home." HA!

I mean they fed me and took care of me....it was great. HA!

Then the real work began.
And that "work" hasn't stopped yet.
Gabe and Caleb doing the "Chicken Dance."

Today is also my Grandfather's birthday....and my Cousin LynnAnn's birthday. So it's a busy day in my family.

Happy Birthday Gabriel.....and we miss you and love you and wish you many more Happy Birthdays.

Gabe's trip to Boston

Last weekend...Gabe and his new "British family" and their visiting friends from England, went to Boston.
I suppose they may still be "dealing" with that "Tea Party" thing....hummmm. Maybe not. HA!

Anyhow....myself...having never been to Boston and having recieved no descriptions of WHAT these photos are of...I can't tell you what sites they are of actually.

So if you've been to Boston and KNOW....you can let me know. I will phone Gabe today and ask what are the buildings and such in the backgrounds. Ugh! Kids.

I may "make up my own captions" so bear with me. HA! This may be fun. Errr....or maybe not.

"The BIG BELLS of BOSTON"

Hummm.......there's a LOT of shots of this church so I take it that it's...."Important???"
I'm GUESSING......"The Old North Church" the one associated that Paul Revere and his "Midnight Ride" and all that????

Hummm.....no clue.

Georgie, about to get her head eaten off by Gabe.

Boston Harbor I'm supposing.

That's all for now.

Louisiana Boy in New England......

Gabe's moved to Connecticut as many of you know. These are some photos of his "New Years Day" that he sent to me. I thought I would share them with you. They received "5 inches" of snow!

Can you tell someone was having fun!!!

Many of you ask about him and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our Gypsy son whom we love dearly.
Wipe Out!

Gabe's trip to the "Big Apple"

Here's some photos of Gabe's trip to NYC last weekend. He wasn't feeling well.....and he said it was "SUPER COLD" which only added to his misery of having a "cold and a sore throat." I don't think he looks too bad off really for not feeling well.
Radio City Music Hall.

Gabe and "The Girlfriend"
Gabe sleeping on the Staten Island Ferry.....I guess he wasn't feeling so "grand" after all.
At the "John Lennon Memorial"....I asked him "Why in the world would you go see that Memorial out of ALL the things to do in New York.....??" Just me....but I wouldn't have had that on my "List of important things to do while in NYC".....
He said they went there because "The British people that he was (there were two families on this trip) with all wanted to see it." Makes sense....the families are from a town near Liverpool where John Lennon and The Beatles were from.
Okay, I will buy that.
The "Dakota" where John Lennon was shot and where Yoko still currently lives, is the cool building in the background.

Skating at Rockefella Center....Gabe said it "VERY expensive" so he didn't skate but the three girls did.
A "scary person" in Times Square.
Eating a "Chilly Dog" on the street.
Hummmm........

Overall Gabe said he had a "Great time" but would want to go back again when he felt better one day.

Sweet Little Tree

Here is our "Sweet Little Tree"......I snapped this tonight before turning into bed.
I had to wait up for the kids, who were both working tonight.

I love the little "Fairy Lights" on it.

I'll take another one of it in the daytime sometime.

Gabe's going to New York City for the weekend with the Girlfriend and her family and their visitors from England that are in staying with them all for the Holidays.

He said he would "send me some photos" from the trip.
He better.

I just "transfered" his "Christmas present" into his bank account today so that he could buy some "Snow Boots" and a few other things he needed.

We will miss him for Christmas this year. The last time he was gone from us for Christmas was when he was living in England doing an "Internship."

It seems weird not to have him here.

My very good friend Lori JUST e-mailed me to tell me that her family is in the "middle of a big Christmas!" They are opening their GIFTS right now.
She decided it was "the night" and woke everyone up and they have been doing gifts. IS THAT CRAZY?? I told her she was crazy.

Every family does different things you know.
That's what makes the world go round.

For now.......
Goodnight.
