Terriorism Hits No. Ireland Saturday......

Terrorist hit in No. Ireland Saturday night.
I guess it was all too wonderful.

I suppose that the past "12 years of no killings" made us hope that finally......
"PEACE had arrived in No. Ireland."

But all hopes of that happening were DASHED this past Saturday night when 2 young men were MURDERED by the
"Real IRA." They have taken the credit for this hateful terrorist act.

Mark Quinsey, 23, from Birmingham and Patrick Azimkar, 21, from London,
were shot and killed by the Real IRA at Massereene Army base in Antrim, No. Ireland.
The shameful thing is that these boys were "unarmed" and couldn't have even defended themselves.
Sadder yet....they were ready to ship out to Afghanistan on Sunday to serve with the British troops that are fighting alongside our American troops over there.

Four other people were wounded in this attack as well. This all happened while Pizza was being delivered to the Military base.....

There is National outrage all over Ireland and the entire world regarding this senseless attack.

The people of Ireland DO not want to go back to those awful days of terrorism. I've been reading the comments being left on the various newsites by hundreds of people.

Yes, you do get a few jerks out there that think this is some great thing these boys being murdered like this.

But people, please always remember this......

There there are more "DIPLOMATIC" ways to achieve peace.

I UNDERSTAND the "passion" that everyone feels regarding these issues especially those in or from the North of Ireland.

But Terrorism does not solve the problem.

The conflicts in No. Ireland go back for thousands of years......but things have been better going better since I traveled there on a "Peace" mission years ago.

I want you to know.....I'm not choosing sides here, I love both sides.
And "Injustice" has happened both ways in Ireland.
I just want to see people live without fear, and be able to live in PEACE.

I am praying and hoping that there will be no retaliation for these killings....because this is how those things work there.
I've been here to this sad place, and no one ever wants to see it happen again.
The road on which the marchers were killed on Bloody Sunday.

The song "Blood Sunday" for me isn't just about that day when isn't just for that day in 1972 when 27 people were gunned down at a "Peaceful" march in Derry...14 of which died.

But to me its for all the days that some 3,600 people have died in these types of "conflicts." The majority of these killed were civilians.

All because of "land" and "politics" in No. Ireland.

And IF I lived in No. Ireland...I would be scared to say what all I just said publicly like this because of the retaliation me or my family could come under.
I know PERSONALLY how this works because of the people I know that live or have lived in No. Ireland.

I ask you....How free is that?

Bloody Sunday
By U2

I cant believe the news today
Oh, I cant close my eyes and make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? how long...

Cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...

Broken bottles under childrens feet
Bodies strewn across the dead end street
But I wont heed the battle call
It puts my back up
Puts my back up against the wall

Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday bloody sunday...)
(allright lets go!)

And the battles just begun
Theres many lost, but tell me who has won
The trench is dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart

Sunday, bloody sunday
Sunday, bloody sunday

How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? how long...

cause tonight...we can be as one
Tonight...
Tonight...

Sunday, bloody sunday (tonight)
Tonight
Sunday, bloody sunday (tonight)
(come get some!)

Wipe the tears from your eyes
Wipe your tears away
Wipe your tears away
I wipe your tears away
(sunday, bloody sunday)
I wipe your blood shot eyes
(sunday, bloody sunday)

Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday, bloody sunday)
Sunday, bloody sunday (sunday, bloody sunday)
(here I come!)

And its true we are immune
When fact is fiction and tv reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die

The real battle yet begun (sunday, bloody sunday)
To claim the victory Jesus won (sunday, bloody sunday)
On...

Sunday bloody sunday
Sunday bloody sunday......

***American's......"PLEASE do not fund terrorism in Ireland...or anywhere else for that matter."

This is sooo sad. Much of my ancestry came from Ireland, although I don't have any close kin over there. It has been several generations and nothing was passed down through my family about north and south conflicts. I, too, was hoping people had moved into forgiveness.

Couple that with Obama reversing the stem cell issue today: not wanting politics, religion, or the lives of the innocent to get in the way of science... So many do not realize that grace can only to extended so far before consequences must be reckoned with.

My heart is heavy...

Joyce, In 1985 I went to Ireland with a friend who was the coordinator for "Project Children" where children from Ireland were given a six week "vacation from the troubles" in homes of Americans - both Catholic and Protestant. I, too, was hoping that this peace would last. So sad to see it hasn't.
