Meet The Authors at "Words Unwired"

Patricia HickmanDoesn't she look great?

This is my friend Patty Hickman.

I knew her when she was just starting out her writing career and was penning her very first book while living here in Baton Rouge, with her little family.
That was 16 books ago for her and many years ago for all of us. She and her family now live in North Carolina.

She has a wonderful blog site called "Words Unwired" that many of you may want to check out.
The past two weeks Patty has been "interviewing" various authors.

It really has been like a "cool drink on a hot summers day" for me as we are able to peer into these writer's lives.
They have been very candid and real.
And I love that.

Last week Patty hosted "Romance Writer's" week and Friday was "Mystery Guest Day" and she interviewed the wonderful author "Francine Rivers"
AND and I WON the book "The Last Sin Eater" written by her!

It's her best selling novel that has been made into a fabulous movie.

Now do you think I was thrilled or WHAT!!!
Ms. River's is going to "autograph" it and mail it to me.

~Sigh~
Be still my heart.

This is Patty's newest book.... and you can check out her other books here.

All this week on "Words Unwired" Patty is focusing on .....
"Lesson's I learned while livin down South."
Which of course is featuring "Southern" writers.

Go get you some sweet tea, hit the site, and stay awhile.

You'll be glad you did.
I'm going there all week.

Well, just via the internet that is.
Maybe one day though, I'll show up on Patty's doorstep and surprise her.
I've been wanting to go to North Carolina to see something more than the inside of the Charolotte Airport.

Hi, Joyce - this is all so very interesting. I must check it all out. I have had a special place in my heart for southern writers ever since my alma mater, the University of North Dakota, hosted The Southern Writers Conference, its first ever writers' conference (that was about 40 years ago now but let's not talk about that!) Southern writers - eccentric but never ever boring and often unforgettable. You gotta love 'em.

Ooo la la! Congrats. I would have loved this event! I guess that's why I buy Southern Lady and Southern Teatime. I may not have the Southern pedigree, but I can dream can't I?

I will check out this site!!!

Hugfully, KJ

Congratulations Joyce. I saw the trailer and it looks to be a great movie. I read some of Patty's comments on Southern food and brought back so many memories of us eating wild animals, but I can't stomach them anymore. We watched The Secret last night, but when they spoke of energy, all I could think of was that God was my energy. I hope you enjoy your book. Love and hugs, Pat

I have a copy of the DVD the SinEater. It is very interested. I was particularly interested because my birth father's family(Hughes) all came from Wales. Other than the fact that themovie scared me to death the first time I saw it (I am easy to scare) I think Francine was very creative and really did her research to write such a piece!
