I'm BAAACK

It's ever so good to be back home....except for the fact that I am sick with a blasted sinus infection that came upon me the day after arriving in Baton Rouge.

"Mais oui!!!"
(of course)

Certainly, it is always something isn't it?

For now...I'm making a "Chicken Soup" and heading back to bed...where I have been for about the past two days now.

Yet, all is not lost....for I have been doing this.....

And in fact I've been doing ALOT of this as well.......
I had purchased a new novel before my trip to the Midwest.
You know how trips are and you take alot of "reading materials" with you but you somehow never seem to get to them because you are consumed with so many other matters...

At the onset of my flight back home from Omaha to Memphis, I cracked it open and began to read my new book.

By the time I arrived in Memphis I was "addicted" to the characters of this novel.

Upon arriving into the New Orleans Airport...I dreaded putting my book away upon landing.

Since I laid in bed the better part of the entire day yesterday...
I finished my book by early evening.
And I MUST recommend this book to you.

It is entitled "The Pirate Queen" and was written by a friend that I have known for many years. She is an acclaimed writer and speaker living in North Carolina. I was absolutly overjoyed by this new book of hers.

I knew it was going to be good, but it was way beyond my expectations.
Please do check out her website, where you can learn about her and also see her many other books she has written over the years.

I have read  most all of her books and thus far...this one is my favorite. She did a fabulous job on this book and I am a very "picky reader."

Although, I absolutely adored her "Millwood Hollow" series that consisted of 4 books. I was chomping at the bits before each one was released after reading the first book in the series.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next one and the next one and then when I had read them all......I felt like I had literally "lost a friend."

That is how I know when I have been impacted by a book or a movie. When it "stays" with me for days...and months and sometimes even "years."

I would LOVE to see her little "Millwood Hollow" book series made into "Hallmark Movie Channel" movies.
I think they are that meaningful and family oriented.

What wonderful books are you reading right now??
Fill me in.
Now that I am finished with "The Pirate Queen" I am in "mourning" until I find a new wonderful book to read.

For now.....I will read my new magazine I received in the mail while I was away.

I know it will keep me "good company" for several hours while I devour the contents of each page's photos and articles.

For now.....I'm heading back to bed with my magazine in tow, and this....
Hot Tea and a good magazine.
"VERY medicinal."

Welcome home and I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling puny! I know good books and magazines (especially fall issues) tend to mend those nasty little viruses!

This book has me intrigued. I wonder if it's on Audible.com? You are really rubbing elbows with famous people these days! Hee hee.

If you want a laugh ending with a poignant moment, visit my blog.

Love, hugs, and mush, KJ

I found her book on Audible.com. I'm already reading 2 other books, so this will give me something nice to listen to in the car.

Joyce,
First, I am so sorry to hear that you've been sick after just arriving back from your adventure/trip! Second, yes your comment made it onto my posting, so I think your computer woes are "fixed" hopefully anyway! Third, the book sounds wonderful I will look for it. I've been reading all summer. I've read "Pocketful of Rye" by A.J.Cronin, three of Dee Henderson's books and a trio of Lisa Scottoline mysteries! Whew! A lot of good reading there. Hope you feel better soon!

Hugs,
Jean
