Christmas Daze

It's just days before Christmas now.
I've had to "triage" my time and try to manage "what is the tyranny of the urgent right now."
Things like sending Christmas cards to every single person I know have had to go to the "wayside" this year. But that's okay.

I have my decorations up and have been to many fun events, I have baked a tiny bit and have all the presents bought, wrapped and secured to where they are to be and to whom they need to be to for Christmas Day.

I try to stay highly organized and keep on top of things....but some days. Those things fall apart. And that's okay too.

Keeping up with this blog has been the hardest challenge for me this month.
I just tonight finally changed my blog header to my decorative one.
PLEASE don't be offended that it says: "Happy Holidays."

I'm all about CHRISTmas....I think that those of you that know me now after about 3 years plus of doing this know that.
When I had Ms. Mary make my header about three years ago now, I didn't even think about the  "Happy Holidays controversy."

I just really liked the template she had made me. I'm a major "Holly and Ivy" person so that caught my eye immediately and she already had the wording on it so I let it stay that way because I wanted to cover the entire month.

I mean we do celebrate the entire month do we not?

Think with me....from Thanksgiving onward.....we have parties to attend and concerts, and recitals, and pageant's and church events to show up at.

Presents to buy, food to cook, cookies to bake. The list of things we do to celebrate Christmas is astounding and some of it due to cultural background and some of it traditions or some of this might be due to ritual.

Regardless of whatever reason we do what we do. We celebrate in one way or another.

And we should celebrate Christmas 24/7 and 365 days out of the year actually.
It's not just about one day.
Rather, it's about many.

I like what Charles Dickens had to say about that thought.
"I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year."

This really should be at the forefront of all of our thinking during December and beyond.
